    300blk brass thickness question

Will FC or FC 11 NICKEL BRASS work for 300blk? I have a bunch I'd like to convert. Also have some speer. If anyone has a chart for the brass that works that would be great as well. Thanks for the help.

I don’t have copy and paste or link identification capability for a couple of days. I’m sure someone will do it before I can.

In general a wall thickness of .013” is real close to being a problem.
Usually .014” is too thick, .012” is fine.
Problematically with a couple of manufacturers their brass may be made in differing locations, having differing wall thicknesses, Federal is one of them.

Few people I've talked to said federal is fine. I will make a dummy round and test it out. I have a Sheridan case gage to verify the case. I also do have Speer brass. I'll post how it works out. Just waiting on the Jig should have it next week.

It is reputed the “newer” Federal brass “may” be thicker.
Based on the picture, it appears you have both the old and new on hand, cut and chamfer/debur each of those and see.

I have no reports on the Speer.
